The 1961/62 season was the twelfth season of Class B as the second highest Soviet ice hockey league . The SK team became champions of Class B. Uritskogo Kazan , who rose to Class A.

mode

Class B was initially divided into four groups. Each team competed four times against each opponent within their group. The top two teams in each group qualified for the final round, the best-placed team in the Klass A rising. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
