The 1960/61 season was the eleventh season of the Class B as the second highest Soviet ice hockey league . The team of SKWO Kuibyshev , which was promoted to class A , became champions of class B.

mode

Class B was initially divided into four groups. Each team competed four times against each opponent within their group. The 2 or 3 best placed teams in each group qualified for the second phase of the season. In the second phase of the season, the teams remaining in the competition were divided into two groups, the two best teams of which moved into the final round, and the best-placed team rose to Class A. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.

Group 4

SKIF Leningrad withdrew its team before the start of the season, while the Trud Tushino team played part of their games in Moscow as Krasny Oktjabr Moscow . In addition, some of the games in this group were not played. Therefore, there is different information about the goal relationships of the individual teams.

Second phase of the season

In addition to the group best of the first phase of the season, the four best-placed third division, the championship of the RSFSR ( Russian Первенство РСФСР ) took part in the second phase . These other participants were Trud Kaliningrad , Trud Sagorsk , Chimik Woskressensk II and SKA Novosibirsk .
