Klaus Helmrich

Klaus Helmrich (* 1958 in Mitterteich ) is an engineer of Electrical Engineering and Siemens board member and CEO of the business unit Digital Industries .

Life and professional history

After completing his studies as a graduate engineer for electrical engineering, Helmrich began his professional career in 1986 as a development engineer for energy technology at Siemens AG in Erlangen . From 1989 he worked for Siemens in Munich as a design engineer and in 1991 switched to technical order processing. From 1995, Helmrich worked in Nuremberg as head of development for Siemens' automation technology. From 1997 to 2008 Helmrich took on various management tasks in the Automation & Drives division in Nuremberg, Erlangen, Berlin and Atlanta ( USA ) and was most recently in the divisionStandard Drives responsible. Helmrich has been CEO of the Drive Technologies Division since 2008 and joined the Management Board of Siemens AG in April 2011 . He is responsible for the Digital Factory and Process Industries and Drives divisions as well as the Europe and Africa division .

In October 2017, Helmrich visited the Russian President Putin in Sochi as a member of a German business delegation .

In August 2018, Helmrich took over the management of the newly created Digital Industries division at Siemens with sales of 14 billion euros .
