Klaus Herrmann (born September 14, 1959 in Stuttgart ) is a German CDU politician .

education and profession

After elementary school, secondary school and secondary school in 1975 in Gerlingen , Klaus Herrmann completed an apprenticeship as a wholesale merchant . In 1978 he moved to the city administration of Stuttgart and completed his training for middle service . From 1984 to 1987 he studied at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration . He then worked until 1996 in the office of a Stuttgart mayor, at the Baden-Württemberg Ministry for Culture and Sport and at the Ministry of Finance .

Political activity

Klaus Herrmann joined the Junge Union in 1975 and the CDU in 1977. From 1980 to 1985 he was chairman of the local association of the Junge Union in Gerlingen and then until 1989 of the district association. Since 1983 he has been a member of the CDU district board of the Ludwigsburg district . From 1991 to 1995, and again since 2009, he was also a member of the state board of the CDU Baden-Württemberg .

From 1994 to 1998 Herrmann was a member of the Gerlingen municipal council . Since 1999 he belongs to the local council of Ludwigsburg and the council of the district Ludwigsburg on. From 1996 to 2016 he was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg . He represented constituency 12 (Ludwigsburg) and was a member of the election review committee and the committee for finance and economics. From 2010 to 2011 he was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group, and since 2011 he has been its financial policy spokesman. In the state elections on March 13, 2016, he lost his direct mandate to the candidate of the Greens Jürgen Walter and also missed a mandate through the second count.

From 2003 to 2010 Klaus Herrmann was a lecturer in municipal constitutional law at the University of Public Administration and Finance in Ludwigsburg . Since 1997 he has been part-time director of the Gerlingen City Archives. He is also a member of the supervisory board of Stadtwerke Ludwigsburg-Kornwestheim GmbH (SWLB), the supervisory board of Blühendes Barock Gartenschau Ludwigsburg GmbH, the board of trustees of the Staatliche Toto-Lotto GmbH Baden-Württemberg , the board of trustees of the Baden-Württemberg Monument Foundation and as a deputy member of the administrative board of Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg .

Klaus Herrmann lives in Ludwigsburg. He is catholic and single.
