Klaus Riegert

Klaus Riegert (born February 26, 1959 in Süßen , Göppingen district ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Until 2013 he was deputy chairman of the subcommittee on civic engagement of the committee for family, senior citizens, women and youth of the German Bundestag and chairman of the working group on sport and honorary office of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group.

Life and work

Riegert joined the police service of the state of Baden-Württemberg and, after completing his technical college entrance qualification, studied at the Baden-Württemberg Police University in Villingen-Schwenningen , which he graduated with a degree in administration . Most recently, Riegert was deputy head of the forensic science department .

Klaus Riegert is Catholic and is married for the second time. His first marriage has two children. He lives with his wife in Kirchheim / Teck .

Political party

Riegert joined the CDU in 1984. He is a member of the board of the North-Wuerttemberg District Association of the Christian Democratic Workers' Union (CDA).

MP

On June 10, 1992, Riegert replaced the late MP Lutz Stavenhagen in the Bundestag . From 1994 he was the sports policy spokesman for the CDU / CSU parliamentary group . Riegert was also deputy chairman of the subcommittee on civic engagement of the committee for family, senior citizens, women and youth and chairman of the working group on sport and volunteering of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group. Riegert was also the captain of FC Bundestag , the soccer team of the German Bundestag.

Klaus Riegert entered the Bundestag in 1992 via the Baden-Württemberg state list and thereafter always as a directly elected member of the constituency of Göppingen . In the 2005 Bundestag election , he received 48.3% of the first votes . In the 2009 Bundestag election , he achieved 43.1% of the votes in his constituency and was again a direct candidate for the Bundestag. For the federal election in 2013 he was no longer elected as a direct candidate by his district association, instead the delegates nominated Hermann Färber .

Memberships

Riegert is a member of the European Union parliamentary group of the German Bundestag .
