Klaus Werner Pusch

Klaus Werner Pusch (born October 4, 1949 in Munich ) is a German jazz musician ( trumpet , flugelhorn , composition ).

Act

Pusch studied law (passed the second state examination) and music in Heidelberg as well as in New York (1978–1979) and Berlin . In 1978 and 1979 he received private lessons in improvisational style and phrasing from Clifford Brown from Bill Hardman in New York . Between 1982 and 1984 he attended the Swiss Jazz School in Bern. During this time Pusch led his own bands, with which he also released his own albums. In addition, a hard bop- oriented band was founded in 1980 with Lothar Scharf , Ralf Rothkegel , Claus Krisch and Dieter Ilg .

Today he works as an international project consultant and entrepreneur as well as a jazz musician and composer in South Africa, but also in Bali, Germany and Switzerland. He has been a member and partner of the Peter Herbolzheimer European Big Band Academy since 2007 . He is currently also performing in a duo with guitarist Gari Crawford.

Pusch received second prize in 1976 and 1981, and first prize in 1983 in the competition at the International Jazz Festival in San Sebastian (Spain).
