Peter Perfido

Peter Perfido (* 1956 in Hartford , Connecticut ) is an American drummer . The American currently “ living in the Vosges Mountains is a sought-after drummer on the contemporary jazz scene”.

Live and act

Perfido studied marimba and xylophone at the Hartford Conservatory of Music from 1977 to 1979 and continued his education at the Cornish Institute of the Arts in Seattle, Washington, until 1982 . He also had private lessons from Bob Moses and Jerry Granelli .

In the USA he worked with Bill Barron , Anthony Braxton , Art Lande , Andy Laster , Ben Monder , Gary Peacock , Julian Priester , Clark Suprynowicz and many others. After moving to France, Bobby Few , Lee Konitz , Nguyên Lê , Heinz Sauer , Ed Schuller , Marty Cook , Laurent Mignard and others were among his musical partners.

Perfido is currently working in different styles. In the jazz area he plays in a quartet of the bass clarinetist Michel Pilz with the pianist Bob Degen and the bassist Markus Schieferdecker . The latter two are his musical partners in the Bob Degen Trio. He also plays with Uwe Oberg and Eric Plandé . He plays blues rock and R'n'B with Sweet Daddy Cool Breeze and Mike O'Neil .
