The Kleine Brocken is 533.1  m above sea level. NN high elevation in the district of Breitenstein in the municipality of Südharz in the Harz in the Saxony-Anhalt district of Mansfeld-Südharz ( Germany ).

Geographical location

The Kleine Brocken is located within the Lower Harz in the Harz / Saxony-Anhalt Nature Park around 1.5 km southwest of Breitenstein and around 4.5 km (distances as the crow flies ) north-northwest of Stolberg .

To the north and northeast, its landscape slopes down into the valley of the Katzsohlbach , which flows through the village of Breitenstein, and to the south and southwest into that of the Lude , which forms the Thyra a little further south-southeast in the village of Stolberg with other streams .

A little northwest past the Kleiner Brocken in neighboring Thuringia leads the state road  1038A, which connects the Saxon-Anhaltian Breitenstein in the northeast with the Thuringian Herrmannsacker in the southwest.

The Kleine Brocken does not have a pronounced peak. Its highest point is above the Ludertal on a partly wooded ridge, the northern area of ​​which is used for agriculture.
