Kőszeg small area

The small area Kőszeg ( Hungarian Kőszegi kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within Vas County until the end of 2012 . During the administrative reform of 2013, all 15 localities were transferred to the successor district of Kőszeg (Hungarian: Kőszegi járás ), which was reinforced by 6 localities from the small area of ​​Csepreg .

At the end of 2012, 17,971 people lived in the small area on an area of ​​185.07 km². The population density was 97 after Szombathely, the second highest in the county.

The administrative seat was in the only city Kőszeg (11.628 Ew.). The remaining 14 towns had an average of 453 inhabitants.
