The small area Szigetvár ( Hungarian Szigetvári kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within Baranya County in southern Transdanubia until the end of 2012 . In the course of the administrative reform of 2013, it was mainly transferred to the following district of Szigetvár (Hungarian Szigetvári járás ), only the Szentdénes municipality changed to the Szentlőrinc district (Hungarian Szentlőrinci járás ).

The small area had 25,446 inhabitants (end of 2012) on an area of ​​668.91 km² and comprised 46 localities. The administrative seat was the only city Szigetvár (10.755 Ew.).
