The small area of ​​Pécs ( Hungarian Pécsi kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within the Baranya County in southern Transdanubia until the end of 2012 . At the beginning of 2013, as part of the administrative reform, it was almost completely transferred to the following district of Pécs (Hungarian Pécsi járás ), the municipalities of Baksa, Tengeri and Téseny were assigned to the district of Sellye (Hungarian Sellyei járás ).

176,519 inhabitants lived in an area of ​​570.83 km² (end of 2012). With 309 inhabitants per square kilometer, it was the most densely populated small area in the county. The administrative seat was Pécs . The city has county rights and housed 147,719 inhabitants on 162.77 km². The city of Kozármisleny with 5,934 inhabitants was the second largest town in the small area.
