Pécsvárad small area

The small area of ​​Pécsvárad ( Hungarian Pécsváradi kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within Baranya County in southern Transdanubia until the end of 2012 . In the course of the administrative reform of 2013, 16 localities were transferred to the successor district of Pécsváradi (Hungarian: Pécsváradi járás ), three localities changed to the district of Pécs (Hungarian: Pécsi járás ), and in return, the municipality of Geresdlak from the small area of ​​Mohács came to the district that is now 17 villages count.

At the end of 2012, 12,283 inhabitants lived in an area of ​​258.49 km². This made it the smallest in the county in terms of area and population. The administrative center was the only town of Pécsvárad with 4,051 inhabitants.
