Pécsvárad small area
The small area of Pécsvárad ( Hungarian Pécsváradi kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within Baranya County in southern Transdanubia until the end of 2012 . In the course of the administrative reform of 2013, 16 localities were transferred to the successor district of Pécsváradi (Hungarian: Pécsváradi járás ), three localities changed to the district of Pécs (Hungarian: Pécsi járás ), and in return, the municipality of Geresdlak from the small area of Mohács came to the district that is now 17 villages count.
At the end of 2012, 12,283 inhabitants lived in an area of 258.49 km². This made it the smallest in the county in terms of area and population. The administrative center was the only town of Pécsvárad with 4,051 inhabitants.
