Rózsafa ( Croatian Biduš ) is a Hungarian community in the county Szigetvár in Baranya . The population is almost 400 (as of 2011), the area 16.64 km².
Geographical location
The municipality is located seven kilometers southeast of the city of Szigetvár and about 28 kilometers southwest of the county seat of Pécs . Neighboring communities are Bánfa , Katádfa , Nagypeterd and Szentdénes .
history
The place was mentioned as early as the 14th century. At that time there was a church that bore the name of the patron saint Szent Mihály . Around 1570 this church was destroyed by the Turks. After the Turkish occupation, Rózsafa was first shaped by the Werbőcziek family , then by the Perczel family as landlords . In the middle of the 17th century the place was renamed Büdősfá for reasons unknown . Since 1899 it has had its original name Rózsafa again. At the 1910 census, the population was 612, of whom 609 were Hungarians. 510 residents belonged to the Reformed , 99 to the Roman Catholic and 3 to the Evangelical Lutheran Church.

The secondary road No. 58104 runs through Rózsafa. The nearest train station is two kilometers north in Nagypeterd.
