Kleinsander is a place in the municipality of Uplengen in the district of Leer in East Frisia . The mayor is Hilmar Mittag ( CDU ).

Kleinsander was mentioned for the first time in the Beestbeschreibung Amts Stickhausen Lengener Vogtei from 1598. But Kleinsander is older. At that time Lütke Sander (Kleinsander) had ten farmhouses with livestock of 13 horses, 20 oxen, 30 cows and 30 calves.

On January 1, 1973, Kleinsander was incorporated into the new municipality of Uplengen.
