Selverde is a district in the municipality of Uplengen in the district of Leer in East Frisia . The former row settlement is about six kilometers east of Remels. 592 people live in the village, spread over 229 households. Mayor is Heinz Brunken ( CDU ).

Selverde is the oldest documented name of a farming village in the Lengenerland . It is listed in a medieval inventory of goods and income from the Werden an der Ruhr monastery around the year 900 as Selwida or Seluuida . The current spelling has been used since 1595. The name has old Frisian roots and means willow wood or morass wood .

On January 1, 1973 Selverde was incorporated into the new municipality of Uplengen.
