Kleinoldendorf is a place in the municipality of Uplengen in the district of Leer in East Frisia . Mayor is Edzard Eihusen.
In 1598 Kleinoldendorf was mentioned for the first time in the "Beestbeschreibung" of the Stickhausen Office of the Lengener Vogtei. At that time, Kleinoldendorf owned twelve farmhouses with a herd of 24 horses, 23 oxen, 48 cows and 16 calves. However, the place should be older.
During the Weimar Republic , the residents of Klein- and Großoldendorf , who were combined to form an electoral district, elected for the most part or a majority of right-wing parties. In contrast to most of East Frisia, this already happened in the election for the German National Assembly in 1919. The DNVP received 33 percent of the votes, followed by the DDP (30.5 percent), the SPD with 23 and the DVP with 14 percent. In the Reichstag election in December 1924 , the DNVP already won with 84 percent of the votes cast. It was followed by the DVP with nine, the DDP and the NSDAP with 2.5 each and the SPD in fifth place with two percent of the vote. The National Socialists recorded further gains in the following years (1930: 32.7 percent) and finally received 90.1 percent of the vote in the elections in July 1932 . The DNVP received a further 7.6 percent, so that a total of 97.7 percent of the population voted for a national conservative or fascist party. The Social Democrats got 1.3 percent of the vote in this election.
On January 1, 1973 Kleinoldendorf was incorporated into the new municipality of Uplengen.
The place grew considerably, mainly due to the reception of displaced persons from the former eastern areas of the German Empire. In 1946 they made up 74 of the total of 282 inhabitants. This corresponded to a share of 26.2 percent. The proportion fell very slightly by 1950 to 25.8 percent (70 of 271 inhabitants).

In the elections since the establishment of the Federal Republic of Germany, Kleinoldendorf has presented itself for decades as a stronghold of the CDU, whereas East Frisia as a whole is an SPD stronghold within Germany. In Kleinoldendorf, the Christian Democrats achieved an absolute majority of 54.6 percent in the 1949 federal election. In the following federal elections up to 1972, the CDU received between 56.8 percent (1953) and 88.7 percent (1965). In 2002 the Christian Democrats received 60.8 percent of the vote, in the federal election three years later, despite significant losses, still 49.5 percent, making them the strongest party.
A village renewal was planned in the years 1995 to 1998 in Klein- and Großoldendorf and implemented from 1998 to 2006.
