Kleinwalbur is a district of the Upper Franconian community Meeder in the Coburg district .

geography

Kleinwalbur is located about 10 kilometers northwest of Coburg at the foot of the Long Mountains . In the village the Wellenbach and the Ohrbach unite to form the Walbur. A community road from Ottowind to Birkenmoor runs through the village and crosses the county road CO 17, which connects Meeder with Großwalbur . The Coburg – Bad Rodach railway runs one kilometer south of the town center .

history

Kleinwalbur was first mentioned in 1317 in the Urbarium , a listing of possessions of the Henneberger when the New Rulership was acquired, as "few Walber". It was probably a suburb of Großwalbur .

At the beginning of the 14th century, Kleinwalbur was under the rule of the Henneberger . In 1353 the place with the Coburg Land came by inheritance to the Wettins and was thus part of the Electorate of Saxony from 1485 , from which the Duchy of Saxony-Coburg later emerged.

The mill was first mentioned in a document in 1481. Owners of the manor and village lords were among others the Repperts von Kleinwalbur. Although located in the judicial district of Rodach , Kleinwalbur belonged to the Coburg office and the Lauter court .

From 1910 to the 1990s there was a stop on the Coburg – Bad Rodach railway line near Kleinwalbur. In a referendum on November 30, 1919, two Kleinwalburer citizens voted for the Free State of Coburg to join the Thuringian state and fifty against. On July 1, 1920, the Free State of Coburg was united with the Free State of Bavaria .

On April 1, 1971, Kleinwalbur was part of the municipality of Meeder. In 1987 the municipality had 79 residents and 22 residential buildings.
