Knackeboul (born May 2, 1982 in Langenthal ; real name is David Lukas Kohler ) is a Swiss rapper , beatboxer and presenter .

biography

Knackeboul is a Swiss artist best known as a rapper, beatboxer, presenter and entertainer. Growing up in Portugal and Switzerland , Knackeboul started blacking at the age of 14 - first with his colleague eQuadrat (Sven Günther) and then with Chocolococolo (Hans-Jakob Mühlethaler). The three friends founded the band Mundartisten in 2001 , from which the label of the same name emerged a few years later.

In 2006 Knackeboul began his solo career as a rapper with the album Red and Answer . He was able to finance the recordings thanks to the prize money from the m4music Awards, which he won in 2005 as Orlando Menthol in the Electro category. In the multi-award-winning documentary Chrigu , which was released in 2007, the dialects around Knackeboul are portrayed. Chrigu was a mutual friend of the band who died of cancer in 2005. After the release of his second solo album, Hotel Hectik, Knackeboul was on numerous stages. As a supporter of the American band Delinquent Habits , he toured all over Europe in winter 2009, which gave him many follow-up appearances, especially in Germany. So at the end of 2011 he opened the show for the band Jamiroquai in the sold-out König-Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen. With the dialect artists or with his Gudrun loop device , he is also on the stages of festivals, clubs and other events in Switzerland. In 2012 he released his third solo album "Moderator", which reached the top 10 of the Swiss album charts for the first time. In 2013, in addition to his top 10 album “Picasso”, his opinion on the Swiss asylum system, which was classified as politically left-wing, attracted media attention across Switzerland. On January 15, 2016, the album "Knacktracks" was released, which was recorded during a worldwide studio tour sponsored by Red Bull.

Career

After high school, Kohler studied at the University of the Arts in Bern. He then embarked on a journalistic career and presented for four years for the Swiss youth radio DRS VIRUS . From 2006 to 2012 he also had his monthly column in the Oberaargauer edition of the Berner Zeitung . For over two years he was a regular guest on Zambo , the children's program on Swiss television . In the summer of 2012 he presented the program Cover Me on Swiss television and until 2014 Knackeboul was a presenter with his own program "Knack Attack" on the youth broadcaster joiz . He now works as an editor for the news online portal watson.ch and publishes videos on various topics at regular intervals. Knackeboul presented the Big Brother Awards 2019 .
