Knowledge Musona (born June 21, 1990 in Norton ) is a Zimbabwean football player who is under contract with RSC Anderlecht . He was loaned to KAS Eupen until the end of the 2020/21 season.

Career

society

Through his brother, who played in the second division in Zimbabwe , he joined a team at the age of 16 and a year later he joined the Aces Youth Soccer Academy. He played at Haka United when he was still young. He moved to the Kaizer Chiefs in July 2009 , where he signed a three-year contract. In the 2009/10 season he was mainly used as a substitute, but completed 21 league games in which he scored five joker goals. In July 2010, he was voted the best newcomer to the Premier Soccer League . The 2010/11 season helped Musona break through. In 28 games he scored 15 goals and was the top scorer in the Premier Soccer League. With his good scoring qualities, he drew the attention of some European teams, such as Celtic Glasgow , FK Partizan Belgrade and Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim .

Musona signed a five-year contract with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in July 2011 . He made his Bundesliga debut on September 17 (6th matchday) in a 3-1 home win over VfL Wolfsburg , where he came on for Chinedu Obasi in the 63rd minute .

For the 2012/13 season Musona was awarded to FC Augsburg . After 14 league appearances without a goal for Augsburg, he was awarded to the Kaizer Chiefs for the 2013/14 season in South Africa .

After the loan expired, Musona returned to TSG for the 2014/15 season . Another engagement with the Kaizer Chiefs turned down Musona, because he wanted to return to Europe. Since he no longer played a role at TSG and no new employer could be found by the end of the transfer period, Musona trained with the second team. On January 1, 2015, Musona finally moved to the Belgian Division 1A for KV Ostend .

After 3½ years and over 100 appearances for Oostende, he switched to league rivals RSC Anderlecht for the 2018/19 season . He made his debut on July 28, 2018 against KV Kortrijk . After he was unable to assert himself at the capital club, he switched to KSC Lokeren on loan during the winter break .

After this loan expired, he only had one game for the reserve team in the 2019/20 season until the turn of the year for RSC Anderlecht. On January 17, 2020, Musona was loaned to league competitor KAS Eupen until the end of the season . At the end of June 2020, this loan was extended for the next season.

National team

On March 3, 2010, he played his first international A match against South Africa (0-3). Seven months later he scored his first international goal in qualifying for the 2012 African Cup of Nations against Liberia . On June 5, 2011, he decided the game against Mali with his two goals alone (2: 1).
