Koźlice (German: Köslitz ) is a village in the Polish part of Upper Lusatia in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship . The place belongs to the rural community Zgorzelec (Polish: Gmina wiejska Zgorzelec ). In February 2009 the place had 208 inhabitants. The mayor is called Stanisław Kolenda.

geography

Koźlice is located on the Lusatian Neisse , which is also the border river to Germany. The place is on the edge of the Neißeauen at an altitude of about 201.6  m npm. In the north of the village there is the once independent village Lasowice ( Posottendorf ), which once belonged to Posottendorf-Leschwitz (since 1936: Weinhübel ). In the south, close Osiek Łużycki ( Wendisch-Ossig ) and southwest Koźmin ( Kosma on).

Only a side road leads through the village from Koźlice to Osiek Łużycki ( Kuhna ), which leads further east onto voivodship road 352. The provincial road connects Zgorzelec with Bogatynia .

history

The village once belonged to the Wendisch-Ossig parish. The school and cemetery were also in the neighboring village. In the village there was only a blacksmith, a baker, a wheelwright, the post office, a butcher and a material store. Basalt was mined in two quarries in the neighboring mountain. There was once a castle wall on the mountain slope, which was connected to the prehistoric castle wall on the crown of the country via light signals .

After the Second World War , the areas east of the Neisse fell to Poland. Because of the demolition of the Neisse bridge in Weinhübel and the border location, the place became deeply isolated. The Weinhübler district of Posottendorf was added to Köslitz after the war. But the place that once belonged to Weinhübel was largely devastated. The former manor at the former Neisse crossing was demolished.
