history

The village was first mentioned in documents in 1477 when the married couple Hedwig von Pohořílky and Mikuláš Češka von Meziříčko sold the Vidlákova Ochoz forest between Kochánov and Pivcova Zhoř to the judge Matěj von Martinice . For a long time, the founding document of the Třebíč Monastery from 1101 was regarded as the first evidence for Kochánov. However, it could be proven that the village of the same name listed therein was south of Třebíč and later became extinct.

Kochánov also belonged to the possessions of the Benedictine monastery Třebíč and was administered by the Provosty of Wollein until 1466 . After its extinction Kochánov became part of the Pivcova Zhoř rule. In addition, the cloister Kochánov existed until the end of the 16th century, the farm then passed into the possession of the nobleman Bureš von Kochánov. In the first half of the 17th century, the farm fell into disrepair and became part of the Pivcova Zhoř estate. When in 1680 the convent of the Discalced Carmelites of St. Anna sold the Pivcova Zhoř estate in Mannersdorf to Count Rudolf Discounta zu Dornberg and Canal, he was described as desolate. A little later the courtyard was renewed. In 1729 Kochánov was struck after the auction of the Stránecká Zhoř to Velké Meziříčí. In 1827 the manorial court finally went out and was parceled out.

After the abolition of patrimonial Kochánov formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Netín in the district administration Velké Meziříčí. In 1922, the political municipality Kochánov with the district Závist was created. At the beginning of 1961 Kochánov lost its independence and was incorporated into Stránecká Zhoř, at the same time the place was assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . Between 1980 and 1990 Kochánov belonged to Měřín as a district . In 1991 the place had 124 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 41 houses in which 122 people lived.
