Kolyndjany (Ukrainian Колиндяни ; Russian Колындяны / Kolyndjany , Polish Kolędziany ) is a village in Rajon Chortkiv the Oblast Ternopil in western Ukraine about 13 kilometers southeast of the Rajonshauptstadt Chortkiv and 69 kilometers south of the Oblasthauptstadt Ternopil riverside Nitschlawa (Нічлава) located. Until 2015 the village formed its own district council, on July 29, 2015 the village became the center of the newly founded rural community Kolyndjany (Колиндянська сільська громада / Kolyndjanska silska hromada ). At that include even the 5 villages Dawydkiwzi (Давидківці), Mali Tschornokinzi (Малі Чорнокінці) Tarnawka (Тарнавка) Tschornokinezka Volya (Чорнокінецька Воля) and Velyki Tschornokinzi (Великі Чорнокінці).

The place was first mentioned in writing in 1444 as Rajhorod and was initially in the Podolia Voivodeship as part of the aristocratic republic of Poland . From 1772 to 1918 it belonged to Austrian Galicia under its Polish name Kolendziany , with an interruption between 1810 and 1815 when it had to be ceded to Russia as part of the Tarnopol district .

After the end of the First World War, the place became part of Poland (in the Voivodeship Tarnopol , Powiat Czortków , Gmina Kolędziany ), was occupied by the Soviet Union from September 1939 and then from the summer of 1941 to 1944 by Germany , here the place was in incorporated the district of Galicia .

After the end of the war the place was added to the Soviet Union , there the village came to the Ukrainian SSR and has been part of today's Ukraine since 1991.
