The Communist Platform (KPF) is a political association within the party Die Linke . The PCF advocates that communist positions remain anchored in the party .

In its annual report for 2017, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution counts them among the “openly extremist ” alliances within the Die Linke party . An assessment that is also taken up in party research and shared independently of the respective assessment of the party as a whole.

Content profile

The main concern of the KPF is the preservation and further development of Marxist positions within the Left Party. A "strategic goal" for its members, who call themselves " communists ", is the "establishment of a new socialist society that uses the positive experiences of real socialism and learns from the mistakes made". Main concerns are improvements in the interests of the non-owners . Other central concerns are anti-fascism and anti-racism . The association vehemently opposes any kind of anti-communism .

In 2008, the Communist Platform issued a statement against a general commemoration in the form of a memorial stone in the Friedrichsfelde Central Cemetery with the inscription "The Victims of Stalinism ", as there were also fascists among them, but expressed its sympathy for the innocent dead .

job

The work and interest group KPF is an integral part of the party organization Die Linke and works actively on the grassroots and in party structures. Members of the KPF are involved as chairmen or members of party executive boards at various levels in the bodies of the party Die Linke; several members are elected in municipal and city parliaments. The best-known member of the KPF Sahra Wagenknecht moved into the German Bundestag in 2009 after a time in the European Parliament via the party's state list in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The PCF had six delegates at the party congresses (a total of 542 delegates, corresponding to about 1% of the delegates).

Well-known members of the PCF are also regularly elected to other structures of the party. The KPF was also represented by one member in the program committee. This put down his work there in 2006.

An important instrument of the KPF are the notifications of the Communist Platform , a members' magazine that appears monthly and can be printed or obtained digitally for free or for a donation. Contributions from people who do not belong to Die Linke appear regularly in the communications. The authors included Kurt Goldstein, who died in 2007, and Egon Krenz .

An important task is the cooperation with left forces, especially with the DKP , the KPD and with the Red Fox .

Structures

The Communist Platform (KPF) claims to have around 1200 members (as of early 2012). The PCF refuses to disclose public information about its top staff, which not all party members of the Left Party find comprehensible.

The highest decision-making body within the KPF is the Federal Conference, which meets regularly twice a year. Here all members of the association can have their say and vote on proposals.

In addition to the federal conference, there is the Federal Coordination Council (BKR), which consists of twelve members and meets regularly to take decisions. If possible, members from all regional associations should be represented in the BKR. In addition to the Federal Coordination Council, according to the KPF statutes, the Federal Conference also elects four speakers who make up the Federal Spokesperson Council (BSR), one of the speakers is currently Ellen Brombacher .

The KPF maintains its own national organizations in many (not all) federal states, which meet regularly.

contacts

Within the Left Party, the KPF works closely with the Marxist Forum and the Gera Dialogue . There are also close links to Cuba Sí and the Ecological Platform . The PCF is particularly critical of the Forum for Democratic Socialism (FDS) within the left.

Outside the Left Party, the KPF works closely with the DKP . A representative of the DKP always visits the national conference and vice versa, the KPF is always invited to the party congresses of the DKP.

Observation by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution

The KPF was openly and covertly observed in twelve federal states except Berlin , Brandenburg , Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Saarland by the respective state authorities for the protection of the constitution and the Federal Office for the protection of the constitution , with the declaration that it was left-wing extremist and anti-constitutional . She was observed in Berlin from 1990 to 2004, in Mecklenburg until November 2000, in Saarland until 2008. The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution described it as the open extremist association with the largest number of members within the Die Linke party, with around 1,174 members in 2014 (1,200: 2013) .

In the Thuringian constitution protection report 2012, the KPF is mentioned with the reference to the demand for a "system change". This "system change" notice also appears in the 2014 report for the protection of the constitution.
