Education community SALZ

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The education community SALZ e. V. (Social, Work, Life & Future) is an association for left educational work. Some of its members advocate their conception of eco-socialism .

It was founded on 9 July 2005 as WASG , close by Political educational institution and is the party Die Linke close. The association has its seat in Düsseldorf and an office in Hamm . In their ranks there are members of various Marxist - socialist political groups or currents of opinion, as well as members who do not belong to any such group. As identity-building, SALZ represents the concept of left-wing educational work that aims to integrate representatives of different currents.

Cooperation after the merger process

The association accompanied the process of connecting the WASG and the Left Party as well as the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation , which is affiliated with the Left Party . While the political educational work of the RL Foundation for local and regional educational work is flanked by RLS clubs, in the case of the SALZ educational community, these are the educational groups that have a similar aim. The possibilities of cooperation after the merger process were the subject of various discussions. The Left in North Rhine-Westphalia, Bremen and Schleswig-Holstein has now recognized SALZ as a party-affiliated educational institution alongside the regional associations of the RLS. SALZ, on the other hand, sees itself as politically independent and not fixated on Die Linke.

Structures and financing

The educational community does not currently receive any state or federal funds, as SALZ or the WASG have not yet met the necessary conditions. The financing is mainly done through contributions and donations.

The full-time managing director is currently Peter Schüren. The community is divided into a board of directors, a scientific advisory board, a patronage, a pool of speakers and a cultural project. The local branches of the SALZ are called educational groups and correspond to the Rosa Luxemburg Clubs of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. Most of the donations go to local projects. SALT education circles exist previously in Berlin, Schleswig-Holstein, Weser-Ems, Bremen, East Westphalia-Lippe (OWL), North Hessen, HOUSE Dortmund ( Ha mm / circle U nna / Circle S oest / Sauerland), Cologne, Heinsberg - Roermond, Bonn / Rhine victory.
