Konrad Singer

Konrad Singer (* 1978 in Leipzig ) is a German actor .

Life

Konrad Singer completed his acting studies from 2002 to 2006 at the Folkwang University of the Arts (former Westphalian Drama School ) in Bochum . During his training, he played Demetrius in the Shakespeare comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream (director: Thomas Dannemann ) at the Schauspielhaus Bochum in 2005 , for which he received the ensemble award at the Theatertreffen German-speaking drama students in Frankfurt am Main . In 2006 he was a guest at the Wuppertaler Bühnen as Moritz Stiefel in Spring Awakening .

During his studies he received a beginner's contract with the Berliner Ensemble in 2006 , where he a. a. participated in productions by George Tabori , Peter Stein , Robert Wilson and Claus Peymann .

From 2008 to 2015 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Freiburg Theater . There he played numerous roles in the classical and modern theater repertoire, such as Pylades in Die Orestie (2009–2010, director: Felicitas Brucker ), King Karl in Die Jungfrau von Orleans (2012–2013, director: Felicitas Brucker), and Camille Desmoulins in Dantons Tod (2013–2014, Director: Robert Schuster ), Maik in Tschick (2014–2016, Director: Sascha Flocken ) and Peter Stockmann in Ein Volksfeind (2015–2016, Director: Christoph Frick ).

From autumn 2015 he worked temporarily as a freelance actor. In the 2015/16 season he made guest appearances at the Freiburg Theater as the title character in Oedipus after Sophocles (directed by Felicitas Brucker) and at the Hanover Theater (in Timon von Athen , directed by Tom Kühnel ).

Singer has been a permanent member of the Schaubühne Berlin ensemble since the 2016/17 season . Here he played u. a. the Dr. Filitz in Professor Bernhardi (2016, director: Thomas Ostermeier ), Peter Stockmann in Ein Volksfeind (2018, director: Thomas Ostermeier (as a takeover role in the cast 2018)) and Magdeburg in Italian Night (2018, director: Thomas Ostermeier). In the 2019/20 season he appeared at the Berlin Schaubühne as Elisabeth's admirer in a stage version of the novel Orlando (director:  Katie Mitchell ).

He previously had film and television roles. a. in the movie Between Us the Wall (2019) by director Norbert Lechner and in the 14th season of the ZDF series Der Kriminalist (2019, as a suspected ex-boyfriend of a grief counselor , director: Christian Görlitz ).

Singer is married and has one son. He lives in Berlin.
