Tyroff was a member of a family of engravers working in Nuremberg. His father was Hermann Jakob Tyroff (1742–1798). His grandfather Martin Tyroff (1705–1758) had come into the possession of the Weigel'schen Kunsthandlung , the later Tyroff'schen Kunstverlagshandlung, through marriage , in which Konrad Tyroff published various heraldic books. He was married to Margarethe Tyroff (1774-1836). In addition, at the time of his death, Tyroff was director of the coat of arms office and royal Bavarian court agent. In his work he was significantly supported by his brother, probably Ludwig Christof Tyroff (* 1774), who worked in Nuremberg around 1799.
