Kony Ealy (* 21st December 1991 in Morganton , North Carolina ) is an American American football poker players. He last played with the Houston Roughnecks in the XFL on the position of defensive end .
Career
college
Ealy, who also played basketball and track and field during high school , attended the University of Missouri and successfully played college football for their team, the Tigers , from 2011 to 2013 , achieving a total of 96 tackles and 13.5 sacks .
NFL
Carolina Panthers
In the 2014 NFL Draft , he was selected in the 2nd round as the 60th player in total by the Carolina Panthers and received a four-year contract worth $ 3.55 million . In his rookie season he was used in 15 of 16 games.
In the 2015 season he reached Super Bowl 50 with the Panthers , where he also managed his first interception . Nevertheless, the game against the Denver Broncos was lost.
New England Patriots
On 10 March 2017 he was selected by the Panthers in exchange for an earlier pick in the 2017 NFL Draft to the New England Patriots transferred . But before the beginning of the regular season , he was released again.
New York Jets
Just a day later, he was signed by the New York Jets . In 15 games he achieved 11 tackles, nine pass defenses and one interception.
Dallas Cowboys
In April 2018, Ealy switched to the Dallas Cowboys , but did not make it into the team for the regular season.
Oakland Raiders
On November 5, 2018, the Oakland Raiders announced Ealy's signing for the active squad.
XFL
In 2020 he played for the Houston Roughnecks in the XFL . Before the league had to cease operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic , he got nine tackles and a half sack.
