The Kornhaus Libraries in Bern are the public libraries in the city and region of Bern . The network comprises 21 libraries. The main library is located at Kornhausplatz 18 in the Kornhaus building . There are eight district libraries in the city: Breitenrain , Bümpliz , Gäbelbach , Länggasse , Laubegg, Rossfeld, Steigerhubel, Tscharnergut . The play and reading pavilions in the rose garden and on the cathedral platform are open in summer .

Another nine libraries are operated in the following communities: Bremgarten , Ittigen , Münchenbuchsee , Münsingen , Muri-Gümligen , Ostermundigen , Urtenen-Schönbühl , Worb , Zollikofen . The Waldau Psychiatric Clinic operates a library for patients and clinic staff.
