The place was first mentioned as Kossorzowic in 1365 . 1532 was another mention as Kosorowitz .

In the referendum on March 20, 1921, 33 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 324 for Poland. The majority of the entire constituency of Opole voted for Germany, which is why Kossorowitz remained with the German Empire. On May 19, 1936, the place was renamed Grasen . In 1939 grazing had 687 inhabitants.

In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Kosorowice . In 1950 Kossorowitz became part of the Opole Voivodeship and in 1999 the Powiat Opolski .

On February 15, 2007, German was introduced as the second official language in the municipality. On April 14, 2008, the place received the additional official German place name Kossorowitz .
