Kraantje Pappie
Kraantje Pappie (born July 1, 1986 in Rozenburg , South Holland ; real name is Alex van der Zouwen ), also Crane , is a Dutch hip-hop artist, rapper and television presenter. He is under contract with the Dutch label Noah's Ark.
biography
Alex van der Zouwen grew up in Rozenburg near Rotterdam and attended secondary school in Groningen . Due to his successful career as a judoka , he then lived for a while in Haarlem . As a rapper he lives in the city of Groningen.
Van der Zouwen began his career around 2007 with mixtapes and small appearances in the hip-hop scene. Alex van der Zouwen told different stories in different interviews about the origin of the name Kraantje Pappie . In 2007 Kraantje won the Before the fame awards hip-hop competition in Groningen. He is known for his very own rap style, which is characterized by off-beats and exaggeratedly exaggerated. In 2012 his first solo album Crane was released , through which he was noticed in a wider public. On the album, his rhyming technique was combined with dubstep and grime productions by the Groningen producer trio Noisia (known as Nachtwache).
Kraantje Pappie is under contract with Jiggy Djé's hip-hop label Noah's Ark, with whom he has released two albums, two EPs and numerous singles to date.
In 2013 Kraantje Papa made his debut as a TV presenter and together with Geraldine Kemper he was allowed to present the second season of the BNN program “The Next MC”, which is looking for up-and-coming hip-hop talent in the Netherlands. The following year he was part of the moderation team of the Nederland 3 program De Social Club . He also uses the name Kraantje Pappie as a moderator.
