Ludmillenstift Meppen Hospital
The Ludmillenstift hospital is a hospital in the Emsland district town of Meppen in Lower Saxony . In 2010 the hospital treated more than 17,000 inpatients and 65,000 outpatients ; since 2015 it has had 420 beds . The house is currently being expanded as part of a construction project. Another ward block with 100 beds and other functional units will be built. The non-profit sponsor of the hospital is the Ludmillenstift Hospital Board of Trustees . The hospital employs around 1,300 people, including around 100 doctors.
The hospital was opened in 1851, the protectorate for the foundation was taken over by Duchess Ludmilla von Arenberg, wife of Prosper Ludwig von Arenberg , the last ruling Duke of Arenberg, Aarschot and Meppen, Prince of Recklinghausen.

Additional functional areas are attached to the Ludmillenstift hospital that support or supplement the specific care tasks. In the medical and nursing center Tagespflege- and respite care places are kept. In addition, the social pediatric outpatient and therapy center SPATZ as well as the nephrological center Emsland and an affiliated doctor group practice for radiation therapy and radiation oncology are organizationally assigned to the hospital. The Ludmillenstift holds around 200 apprenticeships in three departments through the hospital's training center. Training is provided in nursing and children's nursing , in physical therapy and massage, as well as in commercial and technical areas. For visitors to the hospital and the city of Meppen, for relatives of patients and for convalescents , an in-house conference hotel and restaurant center will be opened in March 2007.
