Krassiw ( Ukrainian Красів ; Russian Красов Krassow , Polish Krasów ) is a village in the western Ukrainian Lviv Oblast with about 430 inhabitants.
With the village of Poljana it belonged to the district council of the same name until 2015 , on September 5, 2015 the village became part of the newly founded rural community of Trostjanez .
history
The place was mentioned in 1421 as między Krasowem and later as villa Craschow (1444), Crassow (1465), Craszow (1515) Krassow (1578), Krasow (1649), z Krasowym (1661-1665), Krasów (1765) . The name is derived either from the name of the original owner ( Kras || Krasa ) or from the adjective krasy (colorful, motley, pretty).
The village initially belonged to the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania , Ruthenian Voivodeship , Lviv country . During the first partition of Poland in 1772 the village became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804).
In 1900 the municipality of Krasów had 107 houses with 616 inhabitants, of which 560 were Ruthenian-speaking, 52 German-speaking, 4 Polish-speaking, 524 Greek-Catholic, 40 Roman-Catholic, 4 Jews, 48 of other faiths.
After the end of the Polish-Ukrainian War in 1919, Krasów became part of Poland. In 1921 the municipality of Krasów had 116 houses with 666 inhabitants, including 359 Ruthenians, 300 Poles, 6 Jews (nationality), 1 other nationality, 570 Greek Catholic, 45 Roman Catholic, 41 Protestant, 1 other Christian, 9 Jews ( Religion).
During the Second World War it belonged first to the Soviet Union and from 1941 to the General Government, from 1945 back to the Soviet Union, now part of the Ukraine .
Reichenbach
In 1789, as part of the Josephine colonization, German colonists of the Lutheran denomination were settled on the grounds of the village of Krasów. The colony was called Reichenbach and became an independent municipality. The Protestants belonged to the parish of Dornfeld in Evangelical Superintendentur AB Galizien .
In 1900 the municipality of Reichenbach had 33 houses with 203 inhabitants, of which 182 were German-speaking, 3 Polish-speaking, 18 Ruthenian-speaking, 14 Greek-Catholic, 4 Roman-Catholic, 7 Jews, 178 of other faiths.
In 1921 the community of Reichenbach had 37 houses with 231 inhabitants, of which 135 were Germans, 70 Ruthenians, 19 Poles, 7 Jews (nationality and religion), 129 Protestant, 70 Greek Catholic, 19 Roman Catholic.
