Coat of arms of those of Krassow

Krassow is an old, originally ruggish , now extinct noble family .

history

As early as 1294, the Krassow were resident on Rügen, as the register of the Bishop of Roskilde shows. In the federal letter of the Rügischen nobility with Stralsund in 1316 Godaschalk , Tonnies and Matthias Krassow were named. In the 14th century the family was divided into the Dambahn († 1565), Schweikevitz-Saalkow († 1825) and Varsnevitz-Pansevitz lines. The trunk row of the still existing line begins with Anton Krassow , documented 1365-1407.

In 1707 Ernst Detlof von Krassow , Herr auf Pansevitz, received a baron diploma . Another baron diploma was issued for the ducal-Mecklenburg commander Adam Philipp von Krassow in 1731. The Swedish chamberlain Baron Friedrich Heinrich von Krassow was raised to the Prussian count status in 1840. With his grandson Carl Reinhold von Krassow , the count's branch died out in the male line in 1892.

coat of arms

The family coat of arms shows in the split shield on the right in the silver field half a black ox head, on the left in the black field nine golden acorns. On the crowned helmet with silver and black covers a peacock whisker.
