Kristina Böttrich-Merdjanowa (born July 26, 1933 in Sofia , Bulgaria ; † December 19, 2012 in Grünwald ) was a German-Bulgarian graphic designer , graphic designer and author . She created the opening credits for the crime scene .

Life

Böttrich-Merdjanowa became famous for the film opening credits she created for the Tatort television series . According to her own statement, she took over the development of the concept, the implementation of the animations and the management of the shooting for the opening credits in 1969. She received a one-off DM 2,500 , around EUR 1,250, for filming .

At the end of 2009, she unsuccessfully sued the Munich District Court I for a step action for information for higher remuneration and naming in order to receive more money retrospectively for the opening credits, which had been broadcast unchanged for over 40 years in over 700 episodes. The District Court of Munich I initially ruled largely in favor of the plaintiff with a partial judgment of March 24, 2010. In February 2011, however, the Munich Higher Regional Court overturned this judgment and dismissed the lawsuit on the grounds that the opening credits played a subordinate role in the success of the television series.

Böttrich-Merdjanowa lived abroad for a long time. Together with her husband, she wrote children's and youth literature. She worked until shortly before her death. Among other things, she developed cartoons and wrote a cookbook.

She died at the age of 79 on December 19, 2012 in the posh suburb of Grünwald in Munich .

Böttrich-Merdjanowa was married to the director and co-author of the dandelion books Hans-Joachim Böttrich for 45 years, who died just a few days after her death on January 5, 2013 at the age of 89. Both were buried on January 17, 2013 in the Grünwald forest cemetery.
