Kronowo ( German  Groß Cronau ; from 1929 to 1945 Cronau ) is a village and Sołectwo in the urban and rural community of Barczewo . The village belongs to the Olsztyński powiat in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in north-eastern Poland.

It is located on Voivodeship Road 595 ( droga wojewódzka nr 595 ), which connects Barczewo with Jeziorany . Kronowo is about six kilometers from Barczewo and about ten kilometers from Jeziorany.

Due to the provisions of the Versailles Treaty , the population in the Allenstein voting area , to which Groß Cronau belonged, voted on July 11, 1920 on whether it would continue to belong to East Prussia (and thus Germany) or join Poland. In Groß Cronau, 440 residents voted to remain with East Prussia, while Poland received 100 votes.

There is a large gravel pit at the village, in which some of the village's inhabitants work. Otherwise the place is more agricultural. There is also a small grocery store in the village that is privately operated and a primary school that is also attended by children from the surrounding villages.
