Kruschewez (also written Krushevets , Bulgarian Крушевец ) is a village in the municipality of Sozopol , Burgas province in southern Bulgaria . The village is in the middle of the Strandscha Mountains, on the northern slopes of the Bosna . To the east of the village is the Tumbata summit (206 m; ⊙ ). To the east of Krushevets is the Nowo Panicharevo water reservoir , the Jasna Polyana reservoir and the village of Novo Panicharevo (approx. 11 km).
The closest city is Primorsko (approx. 25 km east) and the closest major city is Burgas (approx. 30 km north). The community center Sozopol is located approx. 37 km east of Kruschewez. The two-lane national road I / 9 , which is part of the European route 87 and connects Burgas with Malko Tarnowo on the Bulgarian-Turkish border, runs through Kruschewez .
Archeology and landmarks
Archaeological investigations have shown that the Thracians were mining and smelting in the Bakarbokluk area (approx. 1 km south of the village), which was continued in ancient times. To the northeast of Krushevets is a Turkish dolmen . Also in the village are:
- the Church of St. Athanasius (Bulgarian Sweti Atanas, built in 1879);
- Ruins of the Thracian and medieval fortress Kaleto , approx. 2 km west of the village
- Chapel of St. Goerg
- Five houses are listed and are of national importance
