Kurt Mündl
Kurt Mündl (born June 8, 1959 in St. Pölten ; † December 2019 in Kirchstetten (Lower Austria) ) was an Austrian biologist , publicist , cameraman and author .
Life
Kurt Mündl is known for his nature films, especially the films from the Universum series of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF), for which he was there from the start.
Between 1979 and 1989 he was the science journalist companion of Konrad Lorenz . In 1994 he founded his own film company "Power of Earth Productions" TV & Film Produktions Ges.mbH. He worked for various broadcasters such as the German-speaking ORF, ZDF , NDR , but also for foreign-language channels such as Canal + , SVT and Channel 4 . His film A Quite Everyday Monster - The Housefly was the first production since ORF was founded to be bought by the BBC .

Awards
In 2004 he received the title of professor from the Republic of Austria. Among the numerous international awards, he received three times the Gold Camera Award in Chicago and the Golden Decade Award , which is only given every ten years. Kurt Mündl has been one of the most awarded documentary filmmakers in Europe since 2000.
