Kurt Meissner (politician)

Kurt WR Meissner (born April 26, 1924 in Duisburg , † October 19, 2009 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Kurt Meissner attended a high school and passed the Abitur . In 1942 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht . After the Second World War he studied law and passed the assessor examination. He became acting judge at the district court of Mülheim an der Ruhr and at the district court of Düsseldorf . In 1955 he became legal advisor at the Duisburg-Ruhrorter Häfen and joined the CDU in 1961. In 1963, Meissner became a general representative of Becker & Felstau and in 1965 a lawyer and notary .

Meissner moved up to the District Assembly (BVV) in the Reinickendorf district in 1968 and was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives in the 1971 Berlin election. During this time he had, among other things, taken care of the planning for the development of the Tegeler Hafen and the International Building Exhibition in 1987 . In March 1979 he left the House of Representatives. In May 1992 he was re-elected to BVV Reinickendorf, of which he was chairman until 1999.

Meissner was treasurer and chairman of the Albert Schweitzer Children's Village in Berlin , also because he had ten children.
