Kurt Pitzler

Kurt Pitzler (born July 10, 1930 in Langenwetzendorf , Thuringia) is a German surgeon.

Life

Pitzler studied medicine at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . In 1954 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. After two years in internal medicine, he completed his surgical training in Jena from 1956 to 1960. In 1965 he completed his habilitation with Heinrich Kuntzen . After he had been senior physician from 1963, he was appointed to the second chair for surgery in Jena in 1971 . In 1976 he was a full professor at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University in Greifswald for a few months . He moved to West Germany in 1976 and was accommodated in a Munich clinic. 1983/84 he was chief physician in Neunkirchen (Saar) . In 1985 he moved to the St. Johannes Hospital in Neheim . On December 31, 1996, he retired.
