Richard Reding

Richard Reding (* 1932 in Groitzsch ) is a German professor emeritus for surgery.

Life

Reding attended the upper secondary school for boys and the Herder high school in Leipzig . After high school he studied from 1951 to 1956 at the University of Leipzig medicine. In 1956 he was awarded a Dr. med. PhD. In 1957/58 he worked for the anatomist Kurt Hermann Alverdes . From 1962 to 1970 he completed his surgical training with Herbert Uebermuth in Leipzig and at the surgical clinic of the Ernst Moritz Arndt University in Greifswald . He completed his habilitation in Greifswald in 1964. In 1968 he received a teaching position for surgery. Full professor since 1970 , he moved to Rostock University in 1976 . The Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania took him on as full professor after German reunification . Retired from the service of the University of Rostock on September 30, 1993, he worked for the medical service of the health insurance in Lower Saxony for four years (violations of medical due diligence). He was involved in the Association of Surgeons of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . 1975–1977, 1981–1983 and 1987–1991 he was chairman of the association (Rostock). In 1968 and 1975 he led the conferences in Greifswald, 1981 and 1990 in Rostock.
