Kurt Eugen Georg von Wahlen-Jürgass (born September 27, 1862 in Breslau , † November 27, 1935 in Karlsruhe ) was a Prussian officer , most recently major general .

Life

Wahlen-Jürgass was transferred to the 2nd Lower Silesian Infantry Regiment No. 47 of the Prussian Army on April 12, 1879 as a characterized ensign from the Cadet Corps . Since December 11, 1880 , he was second lieutenant on October 17, 1893 as a prime lieutenant and adjutant to the 20th Infantry Briage. Left in this command, he was promoted to captain on January 27, 1894 and at the same time transferred to the grenadier regiment "Graf Kleist von Nollendorf" (1st West Prussian) No. 6 .

On November 20, 1900 he was transferred to the 2nd Baden Grenadier Regiment "Kaiser Wilhelm I." No. 110 and on May 31, 1912 he was transferred to the staff of the 1st Baden Leib Grenadier Regiment No. 109 in Karlsruhe .

From April 4, 1914, from the beginning of the First World War until October 7, 1915 , Wahlen-Jürgass was in command of the King's Infantry Regiment (6th Lothringisches) No. 145 . He then had command of the 68th Infantry Brigade until September 9, 1917 , was then commander of the 42nd Infantry Brigade until August 6, 1918 and was finally given command of the 21st Infantry Division .

Retired from active service after the end of the war, Wahlen-Jürgass was a member of the officers' association of Badischen Leib-Grenadier-Regiments e. V. in Karlsruhe and in the Association of Officers of the King Infantry Regiment 145.

In his obituary of December 14, 1935 from "The King Infantryman" it said:

“On November 27, 1935, at the age of 73, died in Karlsruhe a few months after his wife, the retired major general . D. Kurt v. Elections-Jurgass. Knight of both Iron Crosses , of the Crown Order II. Kl. Uah Order. With him we royal infantrymen lose our most esteemed last peace commander and heroic regimental and brigade commander in the war . … Born in Breslau on September 27, 1862, v. Wahlen-Jürgaß in April 1879, not yet seventeen, as a char. Portepee ensign in the 47th Infantry Regiment , in 1894 he was a brigade adjutant , then company commander in Regt. 97 and Grenadier-Regt. 110 . His further military career led him, who was promoted to major in 1908, to Leib-Grenadier-Regt in Baden in 1912 . 109 to Karlsruhe, where he soon moved up as a lieutenant colonel . On July 4, 1914, v. Wahlen-Juergaß Colonel and Commander of our King's Regiment . As such, a month later he was at war at the head of our battalions .
