Kurzenbach or Churze (n) bach [ (d̥ə) ˈxʊrtsəb̥ɑxˑ ] is the name of a brook in the municipality of Marbach in the Swiss canton of Lucerne and its valley, especially its lower half, where there are a number of farms on the left bank ( Hinter , Mittel and Front Kurzenbach ).

The sources of the Kurzenbach are on the Pfyffer above the Horbengraben and on the Rämisgummenhoger , from where several streams flow eastwards, which have united to the Ängiboden . In its further course, the Kurzenbach takes in several small tributaries from both sides and flows into the Schärligbach from the left after a wide arc leading in a north-easterly direction to the Schärligbad .

Names

The name Kurzenbach is first recorded in 1386 (ůlrich im Kurzbach ) . In the copy of a document of 1449 is the nidern and Obren Kurtz bach 's speech; since 16./17. In the 19th century, a distinction was made between Hinter (st) , Mittler / -st and Vorder (st) Kurzenbach (1531 Im Vordern Kurtzenbach , 1691 Mitlest Kurtzenbach ). The Hinter Kurzenbach is also called Loch [ (d̥s) lɔxˑ ] (1764 an ab gmarcheten stuckh forest in the Lochwald , 1790 to the loch guot or Hindrist kurtzen bach maten und weid ).

The former bath at the confluence of the Kurzenbach and Schärligbach rivers is documented as a shortbach bad inn in 1801 . For the 17./18. Century a Kurzenbachweid between Ober- Schlatt and Binnzberg is documented (1689 named in the hooff and guott Ober Schlatt guott ... Stost ... on the Anna Lötscheri undere schlatt ... on that kalberweidli ... on front kurtzenbach heÿ weid . .. to schärlig bach , 1758 My half-ess home and t good uff dem bintz bärg called ... stost ... to ab deil Mösslÿ ... to Neüw huss weiden ... to frontest kurtzenbach weid ); Today this name is used for a forest-free area on the right bank of the Kurzenbach at its last turn to the northeast.
