Kyle Klubertanz (born September 23, 1985 in Madison , Wisconsin ) is a former American ice hockey player who played for the Portland Pirates and Hamilton Bulldogs in the AHL , for TPS and HIFK in the Finnish Liiga , for Djurgardens IF in the Swedish SHL , for KHL Medveščak Zagreb in the Russian KHL , for the Nürnberg Ice Tigers and Krefeld Pinguine in the DEL , as well as for the EHC Linz and the Vienna Capitals in the Austrian EBEL .

Career

At the beginning of his career, club dance played for the Green Bay Gamblers in the junior league United States Hockey League for two years from the 2002/03 season . Between 2004 and 2008 the American was active for the university team of the University of Wisconsin in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association , which is incorporated into the NCAA .

After a brief engagement with the Portland Pirates in the American Hockey League , the defender moved to Europe and played in the 2008/09 season for the Finnish club TPS in the SM-liiga . Klubertanz went to Sweden for the 2009/10 season and played for Djurgårdens IF in the Elitserien for a year . In May 2010 he signed a one-year contract with the organization of the NHL team Montreal Canadiens , but was only used in the farm team , the Hamilton Bulldogs , in the AHL.

For the 2011/12 season, the right-shooter returned to Djurgårdens IF in Sweden, before he was back on the ice in Finland at the first division club HIFK the following season . In the 2013/14 season, the defensive player was active for 18 games in the Continental Hockey League for the Croatian club KHL Medveščak Zagreb . In the summer of 2014 he was signed by the Nürnberg Ice Tigers from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL), where he had a two-year contract from the 2014/15 season and was number 49 on his shirt.

After his contract with the Nuremberg team expired, he moved to the Krefeld Penguins within the DEL in July 2016 .

In February 2017, he terminated his contract with the Krefeld Pinguinen with immediate effect and switched to the EBEL at EHC Linz .

In June 2017 Klubertanz switched to the reigning champion of the EBEL, the Vienna Capitals .
