Kyle Langford (born February 2, 1996 in Watford ) is a British middle -distance runner who specializes in the 800-meter distance .

Athletic career

Kyle Langford gained his first experience at international championships at the 2013 World Youth Championships in Donetsk , where he won the bronze medal over 800 meters. The following year he finished eighth in the final of the Junior World Championships in Eugene . In 2015 he won the gold medal at the Junior European Championships in Eskilstuna, Sweden, in 1: 48.99 minutes ahead of the Russian Konstantin Tolokonnikow . He also qualified for the World Championships in Beijing , where he was eliminated with 1: 49.78 minutes in the first round .

Two years later, Langford took part in the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade and was eliminated there in the semi-finals. He qualified for the outdoor season again for the World Championships in London and finished there in the final in 1: 45.25 min fourth. In 2018, Langford took part in the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast for the first time and won the silver medal there in 1: 45.15 minutes behind the Kenyan Wycliffe Kinyamal .

In 2015 Langford became the British 800 meter champion.
