Kyrylo Fessenko ( Ukrainian Кирило Фесенко ; born December 24, 1986 in Dnipropetrovsk , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian basketball player . He is currently under contract with BK Dnipro in the Basketball Superliga Ukraine .

Career

NBA

After Fessenko had played for various basketball clubs in his home country, he signed up for the NBA Draft in 2007 . He was selected in 38th place by the Philadelphia 76ers and transferred to the Utah Jazz that same evening , where he signed a three-year contract. He spent his rookie season almost exclusively in the development league of the NBA ( D-League) , with the Jazz farm team, the Utah Flash . Nevertheless, he made nine appearances as a replacement for the injured stars Carlos Boozer and Mehmet Okur , in which he was able to record 1.6 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.

In the following years, the number of his bets per season increased, but Fessenko's playing time was limited to about 8 minutes per game. In 2008 Fessenko took part in the NBA D-League All-Star Game.

Fessenko signed a contract with the Indiana Pacers in March 2012 . This expired at the end of the season and was not extended by the Pacers.

The Ukrainian then received a non-guaranteed contract with the Chicago Bulls and started the pre-season with the team. But after a few weeks, the Bulls broke the contract and fired Fessenko without being able to play a game for the team.

Since 2013

In January 2013 he returned to his homeland and played for BK Donetsk . In January 2014 he was signed by the Delaware 87ers . This was followed by engagements with the Canton Charge and the Minnesota Timberwolves in the summer camp team.

For the 2014/15 season, Fessenko returned to Europe, initially to the Russian Avtodor Saratov . In autumn 2015 he moved to Lokomotiw Kuban Krasnodar within the VTB United League . After brief positions at Pallacanestro Cantù and AS Monaco , Fessenko worked for Felice Scandone Avellino in Italy from 2016 to 2018 . In the 2018/19 season he moved to BK Dnipro .

National team

As a member of the Ukrainian national basketball team , Fessenko took part in the European championships in 2011 and 2015 . At the EM 2015 he scored 16 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Nevertheless, he retired with his team in the preliminary round.
