history

The meadow was originally part of the Kottmarwald forest belonging to the town of Löbau . After the council of Zittau had acquired the meadow, which was described as very wet, it proposed it to its council village Eibau. The settlement of the Löbauer Wiese began in 1675. In the 18th century, the Zittau council had further construction sites laid out on the meadow. Immediately to the northwest of the Löbauer Wiese, the city of Zittau founded the new Hübelhäuser settlement in 1708 along the road from Eibau to Ebersbach on Ebersbacher Flur. Some of the new houses on Löbauer Wiese were built on a corner also belonging to the Ebersbach district, which together with the Hübel houses formed the Ebersbach district of Eibauer Seite. In the 1830s which took place Chaussierung leading on Löbauer Wiesestraße as a postal road from Zittau to Dresden .

Although mostly adjacent to Walddorf, the Löbauer Wiese was always part of Eibau. The Löbauer Wiese has been part of Kottmar since the formation of the Kottmar community on January 1, 2013.
