Lögdeå is a place ( Tatort ) in the extreme south of the Swedish province of Västerbotten County , in the historical province of Ångermanland .
location
Lögdeå belongs to the municipality of Nordmaling . The place is a good 50 km as the crow flies southwest of the provincial capital Umeå and five kilometers southwest of the capital of the municipality, Nordmaling on the Lögdeälven river , a good three kilometers above its confluence with the Nordmalingsfjärden bay of the Gulf of Bothnia in the Baltic Sea . Lögdeå is the third largest town in the municipality after Nordmaling and Rundvik on the coast not far from Lögdeå .
The European route 4 runs east between Lögdeå and Rundvik . Before the expansion in the 1980s, the road ran directly through Lögdeå. The Botniabanan , a high-speed line to Umeå that opened in 2010, runs parallel to the E4 . At the level of Lögdeå there is a station for freight traffic, from which the connection to the port of Rundvik is planned; the closest passenger station is Nordmaling.
History and sights
Lögdeå has been known since the 15th century. The place, the center of which is south of the Lögdeälven, gradually grew together with the village of Mo across the river.
At Åbergsgården there is a local museum, the Lögdeå Museum. Above all, the place is known for its location on the Lögdeälven river, which is a fertile area for fly fishing for salmon . A hiking trail ( Widnisweg , Swedish called Vildmarksleden ) with several overnight huts leads up the river towards Bjurholm, starting at the E4 at Lögdeå . Another hiking trail opens up a nearby nature reserve with traces of the Ice Age , including glacier pots and caves washed out by meltwater, the Lidbergsgrotten near the nearby settlement of Aspeå.
