The Lübecker Hafen-Gesellschaft mbH (LHG) operates in the port of Lübeck, the public port in the Hanseatic city of Lübeck and is Germany's biggest seaport operators and container port on the Baltic Sea .

Business figures

The LHG, founded on December 31, 1934, now belongs to 62.5% of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck and 37.5% of RREEF Pan-European Infrastructure Two LUX S.à rl , a finance company of Deutsche Bank , which in March 2008 initially 25.1 % of the shares.

The LHG employs around 700 people. Sebastian Jürgens is the managing director ; The chairman of the supervisory board is Thomas Rother .

In 2018, 22.1 million tons of goods were handled, an increase of 1.2 percent. 103,800 container units ( TEU ) were involved, 730,000 trucks and trailers as well as 76,000 new and used vehicles were transported in RoRo traffic . In addition, 401,000 passengers used the more than 100 weekly departures to twenty ferry destinations around the Baltic Sea. In 2013, LHG was able to generate sales of around 123.2 million euros, which meant a sales increase of 2.7% compared to 2012.

In 2016 there were around 424,000 passengers in the LHG facilities in ferry and cruise traffic. The cargo throughput in 2017 was around 21.8 million tons (2016: 20.9 million t, 2015: 22 million t, 2014: 23.3 million t, 2008: 28.5 million t). The number of truck and trailer units handled was 716,000 in 2017 (2014: 711,300), and almost 70,000 new and used vehicles were handled.
