Laâyoune-Boujdour-Sakia El Hamra ( Arabic العيون بوجدور الساقية الحمراء, Tamazight : ⵍⵄⵢⵓⵏ ⴱⵓⵊⴹⵓⵕ ⵜⴰⵔⴳⴰ ⵜⴰⵣⴳⴳⵡⴰⵖⵜ) was an administrative region in southern Morocco until the administrative reform of 2015 . It had around 299,000 inhabitants (2009 estimate); the capital was El Aaiún (Laayoune).
The region consisted of the following provinces:
Except for the northern part of the Tarfaya province, the region was in the territory of the Western Sahara . Since 2015, all three provinces have belonged to the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region .
