La Bataille is a commune Déléguée in the French commune of Chef-Boutonne with 81 inhabitants (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ).
The municipality of La Bataille was merged with Chef-Boutonne , Crézières and Tillou on January 1, 2019 to form the Commune nouvelle Chef-Boutonne. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality of La Bataille belonged to the Arrondissement of Niort and is part of the canton of Melle ( Chef-Boutonne until 2015 ).

La Bataille is about 48 kilometers southeast of Niort . The municipality of La Bataille was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Chef-Boutonne in the north and northeast, Loubigné in the east, Aubigné in the south, Crézières in the west and southwest and Fontenille-Saint-Martin-d'Entraigues in the west and northwest.
